Service, food and bar all great. Very consistent, great and unique cocktails including my favorite "Forget Me Nots". The view is one of the best in Tahoe too!

The service was awesome. Appetizers were delivered before meal, The seared Ahi was amazing. Wife had the timeless steak, I had short ribs and an add on lobster.

We came here on NYE without a reservation and were able to be seated at the bar. Ordered a beer & a cocktail -- bar and drinks were honestly nothing special, but the staff was all really friendly and the bartender was very nice. Ordered calamari (3/5), fish tacos (4/5), and a wagyu burger (3/5). Calamari was a pretty tiny plate for $19. Something about every burger I've had in Tahoe has made it rather bland, but we really enjoyed the fish tacos -- good amount of fresh fish, with a flavorful sauce and fresh salsa. Another note on the burger, we had to pay extra for a slice of cheese, which was unexpected in a nicer place. Out of all the places I've frequented in Tahoe City, though, this is a favorite and I will probably be back.

I have to admit - I've had a few bad experiences here and swore off Jakes until some friends wanted to visit this week. First - the service was GREAT! Second, the food, especially the happy hour menu, is priced well. It is very reasonable for Tahoe City / Lake Tahoe. Third - the food was good. Very tasty, fresh, and served in an attractive manner. I will be back and hope to enjoy the view next time. Jakes is.. on the lake.

Came here in the summer and it was beautiful. If you seat outside or near the window, you get to a nice view of the lake and the boats. AND they were playing all the right songs (oldies). My partner and I came a bit later than our party, but they were able to get the table before the full party arrived. As we sat fashionably late, we were greeted right away with some water. They are also not hesitant about making sure your drinks are to your standards; my friend's uncle asked if the bartender can do his gin and tonic his way and it came back perfectly. 9/10 coconut mojito. Really good and prefer this over the chocolate espresso martini. 7/10 chocolate espresso martini. Wished the espresso was a bit stronger. Other than that, still enjoyed it. 6/10 fish tacos. This was interesting! Wished there could've been more aioli (I could've also asked) to bring in more flavor. Fish tasted fresh. Definitely don't think this was worth $23 though. 10/10 salmon risotto. If you have a sweet tooth, you'll enjoy this. The pomegranate reduction was so tasteful -- it really added to the salmon. Salmon was cooked just right. This was definitely a winner for me. 8/10 Cajun shrimp. Really good. Don't know if I would spend $20 on it again though (nothing too special about it). 10/10 lamb chops (not pictured). My partner's mom ordered this and she LOVED it. It was soft and juicy. So good she wanted to make everyone it.

My family and I love Jake's. Every time we're in Tahoe City, it's typically where we stop for lunch. You can't beat the view! The clam chowder is delicious, the calamari is a go-to, and I love the fish tacos. The staff is commendable. Would recommend sitting outside on the deck on a nice day.

CASUAL LAKESIDE DINING After strolling around the lake, we dropped into Jake's on the Lake for lunch. Since it was early, we were seated right away, but the line was out the door when we left. We sat outside on the deck, where we had a gorgeous view of Lake Tahoe. The chairs, however, were too low, so we felt like kids at a table that is too high for them. Service was attentive, and another Jake (not the namesake) was our waiter. We both ordered the Durham Ranch Wagyu Burger ($21) that came with fries. Both were satisfying. If you're looking for a casual lakeside lunch, this fits the bill.
